FARMINGTON — Harrison's task was simple on Friday night.

The Goblins must beat Farmington to wrap up third place in the 5A-West.

Traveling to Washington County, the Goblins did just that as they whipped Farmington, 40-18.

With the victory, Harrison finishes the regular season with an 8-2 record and 5-2 in conference play. The Goblins finished tied with Morrilton for third place.

The Devil Dogs defeated Harrison earlier in the season, but had to forfeit the game because of using a player that was too old.

After receiving the forfeit, the Goblins owned the tie-breaker.

Harrison will now travel to Batesville to open the Class 5A playoffs on Friday. The game will begin at 7 p.m.

Alma will take the top seed into the playoffs from the conference. Greenbrier will be second.

As Morrilton goes in as the fourth place team from the league, they are the No. 4 team in Class 5A. They will travel to play No. 2 Wynne to start the playoffs.

Harrison started the game quickly with two rushing touchdowns.

Quarterback Noah Ditmanson scored on a short run. That was followed by a 17-yard touchdown run by senior Josh Williams.

Micah Ford hit both point after attempts to make it a 14-6 affair after the first.

The Goblins added more points at the beginning of the second as Ditmanson hit Cameron Jones on a pass play.
Ford was automatic for a Harrison, 21-6, lead.

Taner Edwards ran the ball in from the 3. A bad snap kept the Goblins lead at 27-12 at halftime.

Farmington scored to start the third to cut the Harrison lead to 27-18. The Cardinals were unsuccessful on any point after attempts. However, a Farmington fan won a new truck after kicking a 45-yard field goal at halftime.

The Goblins ended the offensive scoring in the game with another touchdown strike from Ditmanson. He hit Daniel McCormick for a 70-yard play.

Two minutes later, McCormick, who was playing in the secondary, intercepted a pass and ran it back for a score.
Ford hit the PAT to set the final score.
