WILLIAM GRAY LEADS THE WAY FOR LIONS

It didn't take long for Briarwood Christian to jump out to a big lead in its Class 5A, Region 5 win over Moody.

On the second play from scrimmage, senior quarterback William Gray threw a 64-yard touchdown pass to Carson Eddy to give the Lions a lead that was never threatened in a 42-6 victory.

Gray scored four times in the opening quarter, including touchdown passes to Luke Miskelly and another to Eddy with fewer than two minutes remaining that put Briarwood ahead by four scores. Gray also ran for a touchdown on a fourth-and-goal from the Moody 1-yard line.

Miskelly finished with a pair of touchdown grabs, and Eddy also added another score on the ground.

Briarwood takes on Wenonah next week.
