Big Improvements
The Carlisle girls basketball team’s well-documented woes look like they may be coming to an end.

After three straight one-win seasons the Thundering Herd finished 2015-16 at 6-16 (2-12 Commonwealth), and are no longer the worst team in the division.

The Green and White also climbed nine points in the District 3-AAAA power rankings from last year’s 40th-place finish.

That may be partially thanks to the Thundering Herd’s new head coach, Gabrielle Guynan, who came in looking to turn the program around.

Perhaps the most encouraging sign for Carlisle was that the team improved throughout the year, winning three of its last five games.

Four of the team’s players produced consistently all year, averaging more than six points per game, and the fact that two of them are freshman and all of them return next year bodes well for the team.

Freshman Kassidy Ingram was the team’s leading scorer this year, averaging 12.9 ppg on a team that, at least early in the season, was focused more on defense.
