Winter post-season kicking into high gear

The winter post-season kicks into high gear with the opening rounds of basketball and our boys team is right in the midst of it. Having won our first section title since 1994 and only the second one in our existence, we have been seeded as the #8 team in the tournament which fully kicks off next week. Our Indians will face the Ambridge Bridgers on Tuesday, the 16th at 8:00pm at North Allegheny HS in Wexford. The Bridgers come from “AAA” section 2 with an identical overall record as West A of 11-10. Ambridge’s section record shows a mark of 8-6 while WA put up an impressive 10-2 record. The winner of this game faces the winner of the New Castle vs. Knoch/Montour matchup. Tickets for the game will be sold on Friday, the 12th & Monday, the 15th in the athletic office from 9am-3pm and also on Tuesday, the 16th from 9am-2pm. Costs for presale are $7 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets at the game are general admission for $7. The boys basketball boosters will be sponsoring a fan bus for free. The only requirement is a game ticket must be pre-purchased from West Allegheny in order to ride the bus. Student’s riding the bus must also have a bus ticket and permission slip signed and handed in at the time of departure. That bus will depart from the student parking lot at 7pm. We hope our fans come out to support our Indians as they start their post-season play. To view AAA Boys Bracket log onto West Allegheny Facebook page.
