Muskogee fell twice in the Class 6A regional softball tournament Friday at the Tulsa Union High School complex, losing to Stillwater 11-5 and host Union 8-0.

Muskogee managed just five hits against the Redskins with Union pounding out 12.

Meadow Millon took both loses on the afternoon, going six innings and striking out two in the Union clash and throwing seven innings, giving up 17 hits and striking out two against Stillwater.

Shania Henry and Lynie Lund had two hits each for Muskogee against Union.

The Lady Roughers end their season 11-20, while Union advanced to Monday’s championship round at 5 p.m. against Stillwater. The Pioneers defeated Union 9-4 in the second game of the tournament.

“We had our chances,” said Muskogee coach Rick Carbone. “We had runners on base but just couldn’t push them across with a hit.”

The Lady Roughers rallied from a 4-0 deficit to tie Stillwater at 4-4 in the third on a three-run double by Brookelyn Gilmore to left centerfield and RBI single by Kennedy Glass. Gilmore’s double scored Kayleigh Phillips, Meadow Million and Shania Henry. Gilmore was plated on Glass’ base hit to left field.

Stillwater regained the lead with two runs in fourth, before Muskogee scored its final run in the fifth on an RBI single by Jordan Simmons to left field scoring Gilmore, who singled to left field. Stillwater broke open the game with a five-run seventh inning.

Class 4a regional at Grove — Fort Gibson’s run of state tournament appearances ended at four Friday as the Lady Tigers were ousted by Grove 5-1. Grove played Blackwell later for that state ticket.

The Lady Tigers were outhit 11-5. Their only run came on Maddi Jo Williams’ bases-loaded walk in the third to make it a 2-1 game. A two-run homer in the fourth off Courtney Hill put the game away for Grove.

Hill was roughed up for 11 hits in six innings. She struck out five.

Both teams stranded seven base runners.

No Fort Gibson batter had more tha one hit. Hannah Thouvenel, Mesa Gann, Baleigh James, Abi Scott and Williams had the hits.

The Lady Tigers finish 25-12.
