Behind a productive offense and a complete-game shutout from Betty Danner, Tahlequah rolled to a 10-0 run-rule win over Tulsa Edison Tuesday in the Class 5A Tahlequah Regional Tournament opener.

The Lady Tigers, which improve to 28-5 overall under interim head coach Matt Cloud, recorded their 11th straight win, a season high, and their fourth consecutive shutout.

THS will play the Tulsa Memorial/Coweta winner at 6 p.m. Tuesday. A elimination game between Edison and the Memorial/Coweta loser will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Danner, a freshman, allowed just one hit over four innings to nail down the win. Danner worked around three Lady Tiger errors, two walks and a hit batter. She finished with three strikeouts.

Senior Ryann Ferguson knocked in a game-high two runs, including one in the fourth that gave Tahlequah its final run on a double to to right field.

Cloud’s bunch tallied 12 hits, eight of those coming in the first and third innings.

Hannah Boswell and Danner highlighted a four-run first with RBI-triples, and Bailey Wright drove in a run with a double. Lanie Sanders added a run-scoring single.

The Lady Tigers chipped away for two more runs in the third to go up 6-0. Wright tripled to right and later scored on a wild pitch, and Ferguson drove in her first run on a bunt single.

THS finished off Edison in the fourth with four runs. Alexa Cacy delivered an RBI-single to right that brought home courtesy runner Maddie Goins, Kenna Wofford scored Cacy with a sacrifice fly to left, Meg Wynn lined a double down the left-field line to push across Sierra Smith, and Ferguson capped the scoring with her double that brought in Wynn.

The Lady Tigers, which haven’t lost a game since losing to Bixby on Sept. 16 at the Sequoyah Tournament, received two hits apiece from Wright and Ferguson.

Emily Sampson, Boswell, Sanders, Cacy, Danner, Smith, Emma Akin and Wynn each ended with one hit.

Tahlequah needs two more wins to reach the state tournament. The regional championship game is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday. An if-necessary game would follow at 4 p.m.
