Heritage Hall coach Brett Bogert didn't mince words.

“We played terrible,” Bogert said.

On a night where nothing went right for the third-ranked Chargers in the first half, they turned it around in the second half during a wild 28-24 comeback win over Clinton on Friday.

Heritage Hall trailed nearly the entire night. It got down 14-0. Then it was 17-7. By halftime, it was 24-14. It remained that way until the fourth quarter when the Chargers scored two unanswered touchdowns to remain undefeated.

“We came out so flat, turned the ball over,” Bogert said. “We were terrible, but we buckled down in the second half and got it done. It's also good to learn from those kind of wins as opposed to a loss.”

Clinton (1-3) rushed for 348 yards in the first half with its flexbone offense, but was held to just 30 in the second half.
