HORNET GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT TWILIGHT INVITATIONAL

Hornet Girls Cross Country competes at Twilight Invitational
Twilight Invitational (girls only), Cedarcrest Golf Course, Marysville, WA (5k)
Saturday, Sept. 30th 2017, Mixed Conditions, 58 Degrees

Meet Highlights:
· The Twilight Invitational is an event that closely mimics the WIAA State Championship Meet in both the level of competition and race venue characteristics. The course is generally fast and the later races are contested after sunset with various industrial and seasonal lighting adding to the festive atmosphere. After the final serious race is concluded, the athletes join together in a “fun” costume race to close out the evening!

· This year the Lady Hornets made an appearance in the costume race as a group of giant runaway babies.

· On the competitive side, The Hornets did an outstanding job after a tough week of training without a dual meet and fighting off a round of sickness that has moved through the team over the last ten days. The Squad was still able to come away at the end of the meet with a number of girls posting strong times. Vanessa Sanders and Rachael Schaffett ran well in their varsity debuts. Overall, the evening was a great effort on the part of the Hornets!
