BA softball opens regionals with best record in 6A

Due to the forecast for rain beginning Tuesday, the Class 6A Broken Arrow softball regional has been pushed up a day to Monday and Tuesday.

Jenks (16-12, 4th in District 6A-3) plays Sapulpa (4-12). at 5 p.m. Monday at Lady Tiger Field in the first game. The Lady Tigers (31-3 overall and 10-0 in district) will play the winner of Game 1 at game at 7 p.m.

The losers of Games 1 & 2 will play at noon on Tuesday in an elimination game. The championship game is set for 2 p.m. Tuesday. An "if necessary game" is scheduled for 4 p.m. that day.

Coach Randal King's squad is riding a 20-game winning streak and has the best record in Class 6A heading into regionals.

The regional winner advances to the Class 6A State Tournament, Oct. 12-14, at Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City.
