Bearcats continue to roll, blank Northwest

Capturing another dominant district win, the AHS Varsity Tennis Team posted a 19-0 victory against Northwest High School, extending their district record to 5-0 on the season.
Posting wins in doubles were the pairings of Lance McClure/Miles Grubbs (8-3), Alec Meendsen/Jared Kelm (8-0), James Young/Payton Neeley (8-1), Priscilla Schimming/Allison Dale (8-2), Erin Davis/Olivia Key (8-0) and Carly Siddons/Concetta Ogden (8-2). The mixed doubles pairing of Tristyn Fambrough/John Llewellyn (8-3) were also victorious.
Aledo continued with 12 of 12 wins in singles: Schimming (6-1, 6-3), Davis (6-1, 6-2), Key (6-1, 6-0), Fambrough (6-2, 6-1), Siddons (6-1, 6-0), Ogden (6-0, 6-0), Meendsen (6-0, 6-0), McClure (6-1, 6-0), Grubbs (6-1, 6-0), Young (7-6(1), 6-1), Kelm (6-1, 6-0) and Neeley (6-0, 6-2). Dale (8-0) and Llewellyn (8-3) posted wins in additional matches.
Aledo traveled to Richland High School last week for a non-district match, and defeated Richland 16-3. The team took 6 of 7 doubles matches, 7 of 7 boys’ singles matches, and 5 of 7 girls’ singles matches. AHS will travel to Chisholm Trail on Tuesday October 3rd for their next district match.

The AHS JV Tennis team defeated Boswell 13-6 in district play last week. They will face Northwest on September 28th.
