Cross Country Boys Place Fourth at Holland Hall
TULSA — The Sand Springs boys earned another top-five finish, but they didn’t have anyone in the top 10.

The Sandite boys placed fourth in the Holland Hall Cross Country Invitational meet, Saturday, Sept. 23 at Holland Hall. Junior runner Aden Baughman led the team with an 11th place finish with a time of 17:54. Jaelyn Jackson was right behind him in 12th place at 17:35.

Ian Baustert was 18th, Nelson Yazzie 24th and Jacob Smith 33rd.

In four meets this season, the Sandites have not placed below 4th and they won the Sapulpa Invitational in the opener, Sept. 2. They took second at Booker T. Washington and fourth at Broken Arrow and Holland Hall.

Edmond Deer Creek won the meet, Lincoln Christian took second and Bartlesville third.

The Sand Springs girls ended with a top 10 finish, taking 10th in the meet with an average time of 25:20.


Tiqvah Soap ran the course in 24:24 for 33rd place, Sara Abbet was 39th with a time of 24:44 and Elizabeth Watts 54th at 25:40. Chezney Kelley was 55th with a time of 25:44, and Erika Baker 59th.

Edmond Deer Creek won the meet, Bartlesville took second and Lincoln Christian third.

The Lady Sandites have placed in the top 10 in three of the four meets this season. Their best showing was fifth at Sapulpa.
