Picking up its first win since Aug. 19, Frankfort High’s girls soccer team defeated Bullitt Central 4-0 Saturday at the Panther Athletic Complex.

“We played a really good game,” FHS coach Daniel Rogers said. “We had great ball movement, and we were patient with the ball.

“We were really trying to play up and attack the goal as a team. Kennadie Pritchett and Madison Close did a good job holding down the midfield.”

Ellen Williams scored three goals for the Lady Panthers, and Pritchett had the other goal. Close had two assists, and Grace Edelen had one.

FHS had gone 0-9-1 since beating Presentation on Aug. 19. Saturday’s win was the first shutout of the season for Frankfort.

“Our backline did a great job of moving up and putting pressure on the ball,” Rogers said. “They didn’t let Bullitt Central have good looks at the goal.

“Any ball they had we easily handled. We were able to shut down their attack.”

Playing on the back line for FHS were Zoe Antenucci, Ella Lemley, Kiani Tatum and Claire Irish.

“Hannah Jackson and Maysia Harris did a great job in the second half of keeping pressure up front and attacking the goal,” Rogers said. “We played really well, and we played as a team. We were communicating.

“We’re making great moves at the end of the season.”

Bullitt Central is now 5-8.

Frankfort (3-10-1) plays at Lincoln County tonight.
