The Three Rivers Lady Bulldogs varsity volleyball team traveled to Kingsville Friday to beat Santa Gertrudis Academy 23-25, 15-25, 25-23, 25-18, 16-14.

Gabbi Escamilla served two aces in the match, while Ashley Geffert and Alexis Lopez served one each. Kayla Shipman and Maddie Johnson scored 11 kills apiece.

Geffert tallied eight kills, Gabi Hiraldo had six, Madison Springs totaled five and Escamilla added three.

Hiraldo also posted six solo blocks. Springs led the assists with 29. Escamilla added eight, Geffert totaled two, and Hiraldo and Dani Ramirez each managed one.

Ramirez collected 26 digs, Springs added 24, Escamilla came up with 19, Geffert collected 18, Shipman had 11 and Lopez finished with one.

Sept. 12, the Lady Bulldogs traveled to Corpus Christi and defeated Annapolis Christian Academy 26-24, 25-17, 25-19. 

Alexis Lopez served four aces in the match. Shipman added three, Geffert totaled two and Johnson managed one. 

Shipman, Hiraldo and Johnson each scored five kills, while Escamilla added three, Geffert tallied two, and Kiley Wilson and Ramirez managed one each.

Johnson was the top setter with nine assists. Lopez added five and Escamilla managed four. Ramirez collected 17 digs. Escamilla added seven digs, Geffert and Lopez each had six, Johnson and Shipman tallied five and Cora Lopez totaled one.

Johnson managed two solo blocks, while Hiraldo had one. 

The team was set to travel to Corpus Christi for a match against Incarnate Word Academy on Friday, Sept. 22, with matches beginning at 5 p.m.
