The Roosevelt Girls ran at Marshalltown for the 2nd time in less than 10 days and ran well. The girls finished in a solid 6th place in the varsity race and 4th place in the JV race. Dowling won the varsity race with 67 points followed by Dubuque Hempstead (79), Cedar Falls (99), Waukee (105), Centennial (126), and Roosevelt (137).

Individually placings for the Riders:

19 Megan Fleming
23 Brennan Drake
30 Isabel Buchanan
32 Sarah Schott
33 Clara Clovig
34 Anna Gilbreath
54 Solit Germano

Coach David Roney said "The Bobcat Invitational is a good measuring stick early in the season and the girls performed very well. Generally, six to eight teams here will be competing at the state meet so you know there will be good competition and the Riders showed they can compete at this level. Our strength continues to be in the depth of the team. Our number one runner was only 15 spots ahead of our number six runner. Clara Clovig has been a great addition to the team, filling in any position we need".

Next action for the Riders is on September 16 when they host the annual Heartland Classic at the ISU course in Ames.
