Rider Boys Cross Country Competes at Marshalltown

The Roosevelt Boys Cross Country Team traveled to Marshalltown and competed in the a very competitive meet on Thursday, Sept. 7. The varsity team finished 13th out of 19 teams, the JV finished 7th of 16 and the freshman finished 9th out of 11. Dowling won the meet followed by Pleasant Valley and Valley.

Individually, Harry Prentice finished 24th overall with a fine time of 16.42. Briane Goode was the top finisher in the JV race with 18:24 and Marcko Dalay finished in 19:34 in the freshman race.

Coach Zane Butler commented "Nearly every guy on the team improved their time with multiple PR's set. Harry Prentice is looking very strong and is holding his own against some of the best runners in the state. Brian Goode continues to improve and make a push to make the varsity team. The guys ran with purpose. The competitiveness that we displayed in this meet was unlike anything that we have displayed this year. We are continuing to improve".

The next action for the Riders is on Tuesday, Sept. 12th when they compete in the Valley Invitational.
