Only Westmoore could stop Westmoore Friday night in the 30th edition of Moore War at Moore Stadium.

The Jaguars are just explosive as everyone thought, overcoming 16 penalties for 176 yards to cruise to a 50-18 victory over Moore. Westmoore had five touchdown drives of three plays or fewer, propelled by quarterback Braxton Bohrofen and the game's most valuable player receiver Jacob Clark.

Clark won the award by touching the ball just seven times, three rushes for 20 yards and four receptions for 86 yards and two touchdowns. But two of those catches went for 40 or more yards, including a bubble screen he took 48 yards up the right sideline.

“He started to come on a little bit last year against Norman,” coach Lorenzo Williams said. “The rest of the season he had 24 touches for 12 touchdowns. Every other time he touched the ball he scored. He's just continuing that right now.”

The game was a punctuation mark on nearly three decades of dominance. Westmoore has won 16 straight in the series, 17 if a playoff win is included, and has an overall record of 22-8 in the annual game. Westmoore will go for the Moore sweep against Southmoore next Friday.

Members from the 1988 team were named honorary captains for the kickoff. Nose guard Jun Kim talked about how winning that first game was unexpected. Now, it's become the norm.

“It just shows our dedication our hard work, year in and year out,” receiver James Palmer said “We run this city no matter what.”

Three of the Westmoore's penalties negated Moore interceptions, one of which led to the first score of the game. The Lions took a 7-0 lead after a 3-yard scramble and touchdown dive by quarterback Joe Balak. It came after an interception on third down, by cornerback Caleb Thompson, was wiped out by a defensive holding call.
