SEQUOYAH SLIPS AGAINST INOLA

The Sequoyah Lady Indians were looking to get their 14th win of the season Tuesday night at home vs the Inola Lady Longhorns, but fell short in 5 sets, 2-3. It was the third loss to the Lady Longhorns in four tries on the season for head coach Jay Herrin's squad. Herrin said "It was a tough match, we didn't make enough plays to win it tonight." Herrin said injuries played a key in the loss: "We have 2-3 bad ankles and knees, so hopefully we can get healthy." This was the 4th meeting between the two teams, with the Indians winning in a tournament two weeks ago. The set scores for the game were as follows, with Sequoyah listed first in each set: 25-23, 23-25, 25-16, 6-25, 12-15 Kaitelyn Turner had 29 assists, Jolie Morgan recorded 8 kills and 4 digs, meanwhile Joania Walker recorded 6 kills of her own with 5 blocks. Coach Herrin remain optimistic about the Indians' next match Thursday night vs. Wagoner. "We haven't had much practice time lately, and hopefully [this week] we can get to practice some touches, and play sharper," Herrin said. The match starts at 5:30 pm at Sequoyah on Thursday night.
