The Nettleton Raiders finished the 2016 season with a record of 5-5. The Raiders had a solid season, although they missed out on a playoff berth. Nettleton has plenty of experience returning this season and improving on the 5-5 record and earning a playoff spot is not out of the question.

Nettleton will have seven starters returning on the offensive side of the ball this season. The player to watch on the offensive side of the ball for Nettleton fans is quarterback Deondre Henry. Henry had an impressive 2016 season, passing for over 1,300 yards. Henry has excellent speed, so fans should expect to see him get out of the pocket and run for yardage more this season. The Raiders should not have any problem find the end zone, as long as they can sustain drives and avoid turnovers.

Nettleton will not have as many starters back on the defensive side of the ball this season. The Raiders are returning only five starters on the defensive side of the ball for the 2017 season. Picking a player to watch on the defensive side of the ball is an easy choice this season. Linebacker Terrian Neal racked up almost 100 tackles and has a nose for the football. I look for the Raiders to be an improved unit on the defensive side of the ball this season.

Nettleton will be an improved football team this season. I think the Raiders have enough going for them on both sides of the ball to improve upon the win total and make the playoffs this season. Fans can look forward to a big season from Deondre Henry and also to the possibility of playing in November.
