The El Dorado Wildcats reached the playoffs once again last season, but the season was not an easy one for El Dorado. El Dorado has a good chance to contend for the conference championship and make another deep playoff run this season. The Wildcats have experience and this could be a group that challenges for a state championship this season.
The El Dorado offense will have seven starters returning for the 2017 season. A play for the Wildcats’ fans to keep an eye on is quarterback Darius Holly. Holly missed a chunk of last season after suffering a torn muscle in his abdomen. Holly has strong arm and has excellent mobility. With an experienced offense returning the El Dorado Wildcats should contend in the 6-A West.
El Dorado’s defense will be experienced on the defensive side of the ball. The Wildcats have seven starters returning on the defensive side of the ball this season. El Dorado is high in experience and talent. For a player to keep an eye on, El Dorado fans need to look no further than the defensive line. Defensive tackle Terry Hampton has lived in the opposition’s backfield the past two seasons and he should do so again in his senior year. With the defense being aggressive and experienced, this Wildcats football team is going to be dangerous for the opponents on Friday nights.
El Dorado fans can expect another solid season out of the Wildcats this season. The Wildcats have the potential to win the 6-A West and possibly a deep playoff run. If El Dorado can avoid injuries and get off to a quick start, this could be an excellent season for the Wildcats.
