Former Northside Lady Bear forward Maegan Bandimere signed Monday to play college basketball at Crowder College in Neosho, Mo.

“Playing collegiate level basketball has always been a dream for me,” Bandimere said. “I would watch women’s and men’s basketball on TV and be in awe of what they were capable of. ... As I got older, I realized it’s not about what division you play, it’s about what’s right for you, and where you feel like you’ll be able to do your best work.

“I feel like Crowder is that place; it’s a small town, not many distractions and it’s close to home. I’m very happy to be part of the Roughrider family and I’m excited to see what’s in store for me.”

As a senior for the Lady Bears this past season, Bandimere averaged 8.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game. She also scored in double figures eight times and was the team leader in 3-point baskets made with 50.

“I talked on the phone with (Crowder) coach (Tina) Robbins, the head coach, and set up a time to come visit,” Bandimere said. “When I visited, she explained how family is most important, and that they try to have a family atmosphere on the team and I really liked that.

“It’s only a little under two hours away, so it’s easy for me to come home on weekends. I really liked the attitudes of (Crowder’s) coaches and their expectations for their student-athletes.”
