HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — Conway has another golf champion.

Former Wampus Cat golfer Carson Roberts, who played collegiately at Washburn University, completed a three-day run Saturday to the Arkansas Amateur Golf Championship at Desoto Country Club.

Roberts with an 11-under 66-68-71 finished five strokes ahead of Hunter Hickingbotham, Stafford Grey and Wes McNulty.

He completed his senior year at Washburn with a second-place individual finish in the Missouri Intercollegiate Athletic Association tournament. He was team MVP for the Ichabods in 2017-17 and was a member of the academic honor roll all four years.

At Conway, he helped lead the Wampus Cats to two state 7A titles and was the individual runnerup his senior year.
