STRAKE JESUIT CROSS COUNTRY INVITATIONAL

The Cross Country teams competed at the Strake Jesuit Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, October 10 at Bear Creek Park. The Varsity girls had a nice performance and placed 3^rd out of 9 teams in the competition, beating District competitor Taylor.  The JV girls also competed well, placing 4^th out of 10 teams.

The Varsity squad was led by Sophomore Emely Aleman, who had an outstanding performance over the 5K course.  She placed 19^th and ran a time of 20:51, good for a medal. Junior Lexi Torbit also received a medal with a strong 22^nd place finish and a time of 21:07.  Freshman Alessa King was the third Ram to finish and receive a medal, placing 24^th and running a time of 21:09.  Barely missing a medal was Junior Hiede Tiliakos who placed 26^th and recorded a time of 21:31. Rounding out the top five runners for the varsity team was Senior Ysatis Gonzalez, placing 30^th and running a time of 21:43. Senior Julissa Jimenez and Sophomore Paulette Low  finished in 39^th and 40^th places with times of 22:21 and 22:27, respectively.  

The girls competed great as a team and had a nice 3^rd place performance leading into the District Meet!

In the Varsity Boys race, Senior Cris Sanchez had a terrific performance over the 5K course. He ran a personal record time of 16:47 and earned a 20^th place medal.
