GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY EARN MORE HARDWARE!

Girls Cross Country earn more hardware!

The Cross Country teams competed at the Cougar Classic Cross Country Meet on September 24 at Imperial Park in Sugar Land. The Varsity girls had an outstanding performance and placed 3rd, while the JV team had a wonderful 2nd place finish! There were over 20 complete teams in the competition that consisted of mud and jumping hay bales. 15 girls medaled in the competition!



The Varsity squad was by Junior Lexi Torbit, who had a strong medaling performance and placed 14th out of a field of over 100 runners. She recorded a time of 19:46 over the 3 mile course. Freshman Alessa King was the second Ram to finish, running a time of 20:03 and placing 17th. Sophomore Emely Aleman ran a time of 20:13 and placed 19th. Rounding out the top 5 runners for the varsity team were Seniors Ysatis Gonzalez and Julissa Jimenez who placed 25th and 30th running times of 20:23 and 20:37, respectively.  Sophomore Paulette Low  placed 35th  with a time of 20:44.  Junior Hiede Tiliakos was the final Ram to cross the line. She placed 51st with a time of 21:19.



These girls competed well over several obstacles and brought home a nice trophy and 6 medals!



The JV Girls team was led by Junior Shelby Sears who had a nice race and ran a time of 14:57 over the tough 2 mile course, good for a 8th place medal. Junior Andrea Vo was close behind in 9th place, running a time of 13:45. Junior Dru Tilakos had a strong performance and placed 10th with a time of 15:06. Freshmen Melanie Dominguez and Vanina Diaz rounded out the top 5 runners for the Rams with times of 15:10 and 15:13, placing them 11th and 14th , respectively. Freshman Jacqueline Gonzalez ran a time of 15:28 and placed 24th. Finishing close behind was Senior Marissa McKay and Junior Alyssa Gayle, placing 25th and 26th with times of 15:32 and 15:34. Sophomore Angelina McCoy ran a time of 15:38 and placed 28th. The final Ram to finish was Freshman Jordyn Peterson. Despite a fall during the race, she finished the race and placed 57th.



These girls earned a nice 2nd place trophy and a total of 9 medals!



Junior Nicole Booth, Freshman Glenda Torres Greaux, Sophomore Sheyla Montoya and Senior Sofia Rodriguez ran in the Open Race. Nicole placed 13th and barely missed earning a medal.



All of the Mayde Creek Cross Country girls competed extremely hard and there were many personal bests. It is nice being able to bring back more hardware!
