<span class="Bodycopy">Austin Peugh is typically the last man out of the bullpen to close down wins for Class 4A, No. 7 Shelbyville.</span><br />

<span class="Bodycopy">On Monday against Connersville, the Shelbyville senior got a rare start &mdash; and never needed the bullpen.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">Peugh allowed just five hits and one earned run in leading the Golden Bears to a 4-1 victory.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">The Shelbyville offense spotted Peugh a 4-run lead in the first inning.</span><br />

<span class="Bodycopy">Daniel Kuhn doubled to lead off the inning. He scored when Colin Phelps reached on an error. Chase McColley scored on a Mitchell Mathies single and Ethan Larrison cleared the bases with a two-run home run.</span><br />

<span class="Bodycopy">The defense was solid, committing no errors and Peugh walked just two Spartans (11-8) to improve to 2-1 this season.</span><br />
<br />
<span class="Bodycopy">In the junior varsity game, Logan Young smashed a grand slam and Shelbyville prevailed 8-2.</span><br />
