The Sandite Quarterback Club is gearing up for the 2017 season and it has a lot on its plate.

The goal of the quarterback club is to support the football program on many different levels. They provide coaching stipends, food for the players and coaches, absorb some travel costs, equipment and apparel, football programs and much more.

Of course, the organization can’t accomplish any of this without money and they have several fundraising opportunities scheduled.

This year, it will be mandatory that all parents of players from 8th to 12th grade join the quarterback club for a $25 fee. The club feeds all junior high, junior varsity and varsity teams after every road game and before every home game. They also provide a steak dinner for the end of the season banquet.

There are also different levels of membership this year that range from $25 to $125.

$25: Sandite Membership (required for all players and trainers)

$40: Sandite Athletic Alumni (Halftime refreshments in team room at each home game)

$50: Sandite Strong (Halftime refreshments in team room at each home game)

$100: Sandite Proud (Access to the team room at each home game, a reserved seat)

$125: Sandite Black and Gold Forever (Access to the team room at each home game, a reserved seat, team steak dinner and a reserved parking spot)

The club is also holding several fundraisers, including a meat raffle. The SQC is selling tickets to raffle a pig and a steer that will be butchered and cut into different cuts of meat.

“This is a $1,700 value and can be cut in all different ways,” said quarterback club president Tirita Montross. “The pig and steer will be butchered and delivered to the home of the winners.”

Football players and board members are currently selling tickets and they are $10 for pork or $20 for beef. There will be four different winners – two sides of pork and two sides of beef. The drawing will be held Friday, Oct. 13.

The club is also offering 100 lifetime oil change certificates from Same Day Tire and Auto Repair for $100 each. The certificate stays with the car it is purchased for even after it is sold to a different owner.

“This comes with free roadside assistance and the value is endless. There are only 100 available and when they are gone, they are gone. They would also make great gifts,” Montross said.

The two biggest fundraisers are stadium banner sales and football program ads. Businesses or parents that are interested in either program or stadium banners sales can contact the quarterback club at 918-798-1517.

The Sandite varsity football team will start the 2017 season by hosting Arkansas’ Pulaski Academy.
