Southside’s Hunter Moreton swept his way to a pair of field event wins at the 7A-Central track meet.

Moreton won the shot put (51-0 1/2) and the discus (135-1) at Conway High School. Mavericks’ teammate Ryan Wallace was third (127-8) at the conference meet.


Southside’s Miguel Hernandez was third in the shot put; teammates C.J. Jackson and Mason Gregory finished third and fourth, respectively, in the pole vault with matching jumps of 12-0.

Southside’s Lauren Sutherland was second (10-6) in the pole vault.

Also for the Mavericks, senior Loren Hernandez won the shot put (35-7 1/4) and was third in the discus.

Northside’s Tre Norwood was second (11.41) in the 100 meters. The Grizzlies’ Biyron Mcgrew was third in the long jump.

At the 7A-West meet in Fayetteville, Van Buren’s Caleb Christensen was third in the 100 meters and fourth in the long jump. The Pointers’ Garrett Standifird was third in the discus.

In the girls’ event, Sydney Grizzle was third in the discus. The Pointers’ 4X800 relay squad, consisting of Julia Clark, Jayden Thompson, Daisy Connor and Amberlie Ming, finished fourth.
