The Claremore boys and girls track and field teams each finished third at the Booker T. Washington Hornet Classic Friday. The Zebras topped all 5A teams at the meet.

Claremore earned many of its points in the relays. The boys won the 4x800 relay, the 4x100 relay and the 4x400 relay, while the girls claimed gold in the 4x800 and 4x400 relays.

The hurdles were also good for the Lady Zebras. Jazymne Hoke edged Katelyn Callendar to win the 100-meter hurdles. Hoke’s time of 17.85 just edged Callendar’s time of 17.92. Tables turned in the 300 hurdles, where Callendar won in 48.12 while Hoke was third in 51.15.

The Claremore boys had four runners finish in the top seven in the 800 meters, led by Jack Vincent’s second place finish of 2:00.72. Andrew Lauer was fourth, Nick Koger was sixth and Corbin Pinkston was seventh.

Dylan Kedzior was second in the 400 meters in 50.91.

Reid Willhoite won the 300 hurdles for the Zebras in 3.56. He also finished second in the pole vault with a height of 13 feet.

Alaina Orban tied for second place in the high school, clearing the bar at 5 feet.

Claremore will compete at the Muskogee Invitational this Friday before hosting the Metro Lakes Conference meet on Thursday, April 27. Regionals follow on Saturday,?May 6.
