RIDERS SHUT OUT HUSKIES ON COURTS

On a gorgeous spring afternoon, the Riders hosted Hoover Thursday. Coach Pitz decided to give 11 guys a chance to play varsity for the first time this year. And all of them produced with victories! Also both #1 matches, Alex Shay in singles and Sam and Tom Nordmeyer in doubles won their first varsity matches of the season, both allowing their opponents just 2 games. Doubles #2 Graham Link and Cooper Cary won for the 2nd time with a dominating 6-1, 6-0 thrashing. In the remaining 3 doubles matches; #3 Kade VonderLinde/Ben Weakland, #4 Theo Chungath/Charlie Colman, and #5 Luke Stenberg/Nash Van Bibber lost only 2 games combined!

In the singles matches,#2 Nathaniel Sheeley, #3 Avery Bandstra, #4 Greg Eckley, #5 Sage Speck, and #6 Andy Kramer all took home the bacon. And Sage and Andy both had double bagels!

The Riders get the Easter weekend off before a busy week: at Urbandale Monday, home vs. Dowling Tuesday, at East Thursday, and the tough Ankeny Invitational all day Friday.
