ROGERSILLVE, Mo. — The Harrison Goblins baseball team went out of state for non-conference play this past weekend.

In a Saturday morning matchup with Rogersville, Mo. the Goblins fell, 6-4, before dropping a contest to Joplin, Mo., 9-2.

The Goblins were defeated by Rogersville, 6-4, on Saturday.
Rogersville took a 1-0 lead after one inning of play.

Harrison had scoring opportunities in the second and fourth innings, but runners were thrown out at the plate in each inning to keep the Goblins off the board.

Rogersville added four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to extend its lead to 5-0.

The Goblins got its offense going in the top of the sixth inning with four runs.

Tanner Taylor and Carson Journagan were hit by pitches in back-to-back at-bats to start the inning.

A base hit from Keaton Brown advanced both runners before a fielder’s choice from Damian Ireland score Taylor.

Noah Brown delivered a double into left field to plate Journagan for the second run of the inning.

After a base hit from Laine Hilliard, Thailer Lovell doubled home both base runner to pull Harrison within 5-4.

However, the Goblins would end the inning with the bases loaded.

Rogersville added a single run in the bottom of the sixth inning to set the final score.

Harrison put two runners on base in the top of the seventh inning, but were unable to come up with the big hit to tie the game.

Lovell had three hits for the Goblins. Journagan added two and Colton Shaver, Taylor, Keaton Brown, Ireland, Noah Brown and Hilliard added one each.

Taylor, Journagan, Noah Brown and Hilliard scored one run apiece.

Lovell drove in two RBI and Ireland and Noah Brown added one each.

Journagan threw five innings for Harrison allowing five earned runs on eight hits. He walked two batters.

Shaver pitched one inning while allowing no runs on no hits. He struck out one batter.

Ireland allowed one earned run on two hits wile walking one batter.
